Padayappa is one of the biggest hits in Rajinikanth’s career and is still remembered as a classic. The film was also released in Telugu as Narasimha and became a super hit there as well.
Ramya Krishna’s powerful performance as Neelambari is considered iconic even today. On the occasion of the film re-release on December 12th Rajini shared an exciting update. He announced that a sequel to Padayappa is in the works and will be titled Neelambari.
Superstar opendup that he has written the script for the sequel himself and discussions are currently underway. He said he will share more details once the script is completely ready.
In a video he also mentioned that he had written the plot of Padayappa and produced it under his friends banner.
He added that Aishwarya was first considered for the iconic role but the team finally chose Ramya Krishna.
